Bontebok National Park is temporarily closed due to heavy rains in the Swellendam area over the last two days and the resultant widespread floods. These floods have affected the Bontebok National Park roads, damaging many of them and flooding some.
A large amount of erosion has occurred and the Bontebok National Park team is busy assessing the damage and making temporary repairs on the roads. Once these are done, the park will be accessible by 4x4. The park is hoping that the park will dry out over the next two days, so that they can begin comprehensive repair work. Please see the website for updates.
